This single-roomed Meeting House was built between 1681 and 1684 on land bequeathed by Samual Lucas.friends meeting house ettington

Early Quakers suffered greatly in the 17th century for their beliefs. At times so many men and women were in prison that the meetings were kept going by children and a few women. Through the loyalty of its members, Ettington Meeting has continued Quaker worship for over three hundred years.

George Fox is generally acknowledged as the founder of Quakerism.

Meeting for worship based on seeking the will of God is central to Quakerism and silence is at the centre of their religious practice.

Meeting for worship is held on Sunday at 11 a.m. and ususally lasts about an hour and is ended by shaking hands, followed by notices given by the Clerk. Everyone is welcome at the meetings.
